Antique Sterling Silver Guilloche Enamel Buckle Set Attleboro, MA

This charming antique buckle set is made of sterling silver with a gold vermeil wash. The fronts of both pieces are finished with gorgeous vitreous glass (kiln-fired) enamel in delicate pale yellow over a machine turned guilloche pattern, with hand-painted pastel pink roses with green leaves and a dramatic black enamel border and stylized fleur-de-lys engraved in the corners.

Measuring 11/16" by 1 1/16" each (or 1 1/16" by 1 1/2" together), the two halves are in excellent vintage condition. The back of each is marked "Sterling" with the James E. Blake logo (Attleboro, MA, 1889-1936) as well as the design number "3109." This is a rare set indeed, as the company produced very few such enameled pieces.
