Vintage Venetian Murano Wedding Cake Bead Necklace Crimson Red

This stunning vintage necklace is made of vibrant red Murano wedding cake beads with co-ordinating round and rod-shaped beads as well as bronze glass disks, all with gilt brass filigree spacers. Strung on red thread individually knotted between each bead, the attention to detail on this piece is wonderful.

The round wedding cake beads are about 5/8" in diameter, and they have glittering gold aventurine bands around the center and hand-applied pink roses and white-petal flowers with red centers. The smaller round beads are all red, and the longer rod-shaped beads have an aventurine band that matches the wedding beads.

This necklace probably dates back to the mid- to late 1960s. It is possible that the clasp is a replacement, as the finish is a bit different from that of the other findings.

Measuring 29" in length, the necklace is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips to the glass or any missing decorative embellishments.
