Vintage Sterling Enamel Norway Brooch Earrings Set Aksel Holmsen Orchid

This gorgeous demiparure set is by renowned Scandinavian silversmith Aksel Holmsen, of Sandefjord, Norway. It is made of sterling silver with a gold vermeil, and finished with fine vitreous glass (kiln-fired) enamel.

The brooch features enamel in rich purple and creamy white, and the earrings are done in matching eggplant violet. The superb pieces are very three-dimensional, and also have a textured surface that gives added definition to the translucent enamel.

The brooch measures 2 1/2" by 2 3/4", and the clip earrings are 1" by 5/8". The brooch has an unusual c-clasp and is signed "Norway Sterling 925S" along with Holmsen's overlapping smith tools mark. The earrings have clips in good working order and bear the same marks as the brooch.

All pieces are in excellent condition, with no damage to the enamel or vermeil finish.
