Antique Sterling Silver Enamel Edwardian Brooch Pin by Wachenheimer Bros.

This finely detailed bar brooch is by Wachenheimer Brothers of Providence, Rhode Island. It is made of sterling silver with a gold vermeil wash (rare on Wachenheimer pieces), and finished with vitreous glass (kiln-fired) enamel in lovely shades of sky blue and pearlescent white. The translucent enamel is applied over guilloche and basse-taille surfaces, and the piece is finished with sweet, feminine, hand-painted roses in pink with green leaves.

Measuring 2 3/8" by 1/4", the brooch is in excellent condition. The back has a simple c-clasp and is signed "Sterling" with the "WB" in a diamond shape for the Wachenheimer company. The firm is also known for their "Diamonbar" line of sterling and paste bracelets and their well-crafted jewelry with semi-precious stones and marcasites.
