This vintage 1932 first edition book "A Child's Garden Of Verses" by Robert Louis Stevenson, was literally rescued from eventual total deterioration, and restored and preserved for modern-day enjoyment!

The heavy-weight, yet fragile pages were flaking away, and the old book was falling apart from age and use. However, the delightful poems and illustrations were still intact inside.

In order to preserve this treasure trove of children's poetry by the beloved author, and the historic artistry of a great illustrator, each page was carefully salvaged and mounted into a heavy-duty modern silk-covered scrapbook with 12" X 12" page protectors. The book's 60 pages (thirty double-sided sheets) are maintained in the same order as in the original hard copy, so it retains its structural integrity. Now once again the poetic beauty, humor, and colorful full-page pictures can be easily seen, handled, and enjoyed by a new generation of Robert Louis Stevenson enthusiasts!

The few photos shown here represent only a handful of these delightful word pictures and artful scenes. There is a brightly colored picture on every-other page throughout the book!

The pages were slipped into the page protectors individually, and could easily be taken out and mounted into framed wall hangings, if desired.

The attached photos were taken outdoors, and show some shadow-y brownish reflections, making it difficult to see through the plastic to the pages. The book sheets are not as dark as they appear, although there is some age-related discoloration around the edges of pages which does NOT detract from the timeless quality of this favorite publication!

Included in this scrapbook are the Hardboard Front and Back Covers from the original book. A handwritten message on the inside front cover reads "Jo Trapp - Sept. 2, 1935 - from Aunt Kate McEwen," as shown in the last photo.

This is a fantastic Children's Book From Yesteryear, and is guaranteed to bring many hours of enjoyment in the days ahead, as it did in its original form in the past!
