Original Antique English TOAST Rack - Registered 1887 - Thornhill & Co, New Bond St.

Over the years this design (or similar) using the letters to act as dividers of these toast racks have been reproduced on numerous occasions.

It is wonderful to find an original Victorian example by a top London silversmith, Thornhill & Co of New Bond St; where the aristocracy would have shopped; Bond Street today is where the creme de la creme of retailer's are still located.

The underside is also blessed with the English design registration number 88793 dating it to 1887. The quality of construction can also be seen from the underside with the original top-notch nuts still in place.

Excellent condition measuring 4 1/4" x 2 5/8" x 5" tall to top of ring handle. As perfect on the desk top as a letter holder as on the breakfast table.
