The velvet has remained in remarkable condition especially as it dates to around 1880, so 130 years in age and must have been tucked away in a drawer for many of these years.

There is an original easel back on which the frame stands, there is a ribbon attaching the back to the easel but it stands perfectly without this. The hinge attaching the back to the the easel is marked Rte. SGDG.

The glazed front aperture measures approximately 5 1/2" x 4" .. and the entire frame measures 8 3/4" x 7", so a good size. Superb condition, a real gem!
