SOLD Handsome English Sterling Silver Inkwell - Chester 1909
Silver : Antique : Desk Top
The inkwell is decorated around the base with the classic and ever-popular ribbon and reed design. The hinged lid is in perfect working order and reveals the removable glass ink chamber inside.
The hallmark can be found at the side of the inkwell base for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1909, making this a true Edwardian example. The makers mark can also be seen - S-B&S Ld mark, S. Blanckensee & Sons Ltd, Birmingham 1898 - S-B&S Ld for S. Blanckensee & Sons Ltd,
Excellent condition with the base measuring 2 7/8" square.
