Antique English Silver plated Revolving Butter Dish

An absolute delight, as useful today as it was 120 years ago and an elegant addition to any table.
The knobs at the side are used to revolve the lid completely 180 degrees to sit inside the base. There is a pierced tray insert where pats of butter would sit chilled from the ice underneath.
The lid is highly decorated with intricate pierced or reticulated work and four classic urns, one on each of the four sides.
Dating to around 1890, this Victorian example remains in excellent condition and ready for use. Approximately 9" at widest from knob to knob and standing 5" tall.
