English Victorian Silver Plated 8" Salver or Tray c.1860

Whether purchasing for yourself or a gift, you can never go wrong with these antique salvers, as useful today as 140 years ago making wonderful and impressive gifts.

This one measures eight inches in diameter, perfect for a small serving tray, this size, I also find most useful for collecting incoming or outgoing mail and cut a dash desk-top for business cards.

This example has a pierced or reticulated gallery, followed by an engraved Greek Key design and a highly decorative central cartouche, which is vacant and could be engraved if desired.

There is a hallmark EPNS for Electro-plated Nickel Silver together with the makers mark MH & Co for Martin Hall and Company. Martin Hall & Co was one of the best known British manufacturers and participated in many international exhibitions including the Crystal Palace Great Exhibition in 1851.

Excellent condition sitting on three attractive feet, measuring 8" in diameter.
