An absolutely stunning and very unusual antique writing or stationery box, by far one of the very best I have ever had, the creme de la creme!

Dating to around 1900, very late Victorian or early Edwardian, this would have been an expensive luxury at the time, made for the discerning well-heeled crowd.

Created from a beautiful warm mahogany and exquisitely inlaid with various woods and a boxwood stringing. The front has the most elegant bow front, very very unusual.

The interior is immaculate and original and seems to have hardly ever been used. The underside retains the worn velvet for furniture protection.

Superb condition, this heirloom quality box comes with a working key, however a recently made one and not the original. Measures 11" x 6 1/4" x 8" tall at back.
