Truly Victorian and truly stunning, this pair of Victorian face screens date to around 1860 and are blessed with the charming decoupaged front panels featuring a variety of nineteenth century vignettes.

They were manufactured by Jennens & Bettridge, the renowned firm that was by appointment to Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and whose name is synonymous with the highest quality in fine antique papier mache items. The backs both carry the impressed Jennens & Bettridge mark.

The screens have attractive turned boxwood handles. They are 16.5" long, and the panels are 10.5" from side to side and 8.5" from top to bottom. They are in exceptional condition, with no damage other than the usual light crazing to the papier mache at the edges.
