The silver lid is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1903, Edwardian in period and at the height of the Art Nouveau era. The hallmark was struck in Chester, highly sought-after by collectors. The makers mark W.N. is also present and clear.
Unusually, the lid is also impressed with the British registration number of 412167 again for the year 1903, when this design was registered.
This one really stands out combined with the ever-popular hobnail cut crystal jar.
A very stylish and decorative jar in excellent condition, a couple of minor dings to the lid mentioned for accuracy. The jar stands 3" tall with a lid diameter of 2 3/4".
