When I purchased this on my recent buying trip to England, I had no idea where Burntisland was ... now I do having done a little research. The Royal Burgh of Burntisland lies on the south coast of Fife, just across the river from Edinburgh.

This papier mache snuff box with highly decorative mother of pearl is framed by pewter stringing. The central panel reads ... " A present from Burntisland ".

A super piece in excellent condition measuring 3" x 1.5" x 1" tall.
