This is an infrequent folding lorgnette or "face a main", mounted with gilt silver, automatic and folding, handle made from tortoise shell, so honey and translucent, inlaid with a gilt brass or gold monogram. This collection piece is well hallmarked on side with Maker's initials: E.G, and greyhound's face with 3 and A, a rare to find collection item! Origin and period: Austrian Empire working, dating from the second half of 1800's, we guarantee. Dimensions: 5ins x -3/5in. Condition: is excellent, mint, perfect working order for each spring and lock, we only mention some wear.... Superb and rare optic collection item!
