This is a very rare pair of spectacles, with oval smoked glasses, a thin blue steel folding mount, each eye being protected with a fine iron muslin. Spectacles are nested in their original leather box. This rare model was in use for railways travels, or steamer cruises, to have one's eyes protected against the coal dusts and cinders! Origin and period: Rare French spectacles, dating from the mid 1800's, Ca 1850-1870, an authentic item, that we fully guarantee. Dimensions, cased: 5-1/4 x 1-1/4ins.

Item ID: R-0069
