French Vintage Playing Cards rare Invalid's Aid

A rare and touching item! The very destructive first World War let a great number of invalids, and obliged them to find ways of replacements. The well known "Manufacture de Saint Etienne" had the idea to make this one handed aid, which allowed to play cards with other companions in misfortune. Charged with lead to be stable, brass or bronze nickel foot supports a metallic fan, in which it is easy to place playing cards, fastened with an appropriate spring, as if they were in hand. Condition is good, a dent is noticed on basement. Dimension is about 6"x6". Circa 1915/1920.
