Here a pretty pair of French polychrome pottery plates dating from 18th century, lightly hollowed, round, each hand-painted of a character standing on a hillock and bearing hat, in blue, yellow, manganese and green, as are insects, flowers and branches which decorate the border of it. A real pair, painted same hand. Similar plate is reproduced in the "dictionary" ABC Tardy, Roanne chapter, volume 5, page 97, given to be faience de Roanne, works of Sebastien Nicolas, (1772-1796). I guaranteed these plates authentic plates, 18th Century, Lyon country, original, not reproduction...... Condition: excellent, no break or flaw. Some very small crazes in enamel are natural. Dimension: Diameter: 22cm.
