Ivory carved cane handle, powerfully sculpted of a defensive dog's head, its expressive face seems to watch, its attitude very look liking....The piece, pleasant in its dimensions is wonderful to see and to detail! This interesting cane knob is dating from the 1860/1900 years, French or German hand carved working, well mounted with an ivory turned ring, inside screwing, joining carefully with two ivory rivets. Dimensions: diameter for future wooden stick is 23mm inside, 28mm outside, and ivory head is 55mm H, and near 45 x 50mm . Condition: is good, near perfect, notice that this ivory solid piece shows one light vein hidden on its back, not very visible, as often on antique ivory.
