French Bronze Apothecary mortar, 17th Century

This is a pretty and serious French Apothecary mortar, with original pestle, cast in bronze with a deep relief. In a wide-mouthed shape, applied decoration is well organized with 4 Fleur de Lys on body, between powerful moldings. Fleur de Lys was emblem of our French Royalty.... This is a good bronze mortar, probably made by the famous Le Puy founders, in Auvergne, early, high quality, with untouched dark patina. This genuine mortar is dating from 1650's years and is a good example of French mortars in the period. Dimensions: 4-1/4ins for height, and 6ins for diameter. Weight is near 4 kilo: expensive to ship for me..... Condition is excellent, without any serious flaw, and the natural patina is uncleaned. The piece rings as a bell.
