Offered here is this apple shaped covered marmalade jar from Red Wing. These novelty pieces were part of the Gypsy Trail line called Hostessware. Made only in solid colors, to compete with the popular Fiesta dishes, this unusual piece is a rich turquoise. The underplate is attached to the bowl. It stands about 4" high and is 6" in length. The base is faintly marked as shown.

The lid has a chip as shown and the lid and bowl have glazed over firing cracks. These are tiny but mentioned for accuracy. Nice piece of uncommon Red Wing dinnerware.
