SALE Impressive Fat Lava West German Lamp Base

Never made in great abundance, West German lamp bases are quite hard to find. This is an oddly impressive design. This has a space capsule design that I would date to the 1960's. The frothy green lava glaze flows all over the bulbous body. The base glaze is a rich cocoa brown. The body design has 3 rows of nodules with borders of impressed rectangles. The clay is very white. I don't know the maker but a possibility is Scheurich or Bay.

This is a large and heavy piece and comes without any hardware. The new owner can wire in the electrics suitable for their part of the world. It stands 31cm ( 12 1/4" ) tall and has a body diameter of about 23cm ( 9" ).

As stated, the base comes without any hardware. There are no chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs. The 6th picture shows where the original socket rubbed away some glaze. When rewired, this will not be seen.
