Offered here is a piece that is a striking departure from most West Germany pottery. The main glaze is a high gloss white with hand decorated concentric black rings. This 1960's Scheurich ashtray has the fat lava treatment to the base of both the interior and exterior. It is 14cm ( 5 1/2" ) square with rounded corners. The interior is a frothy gray with the sides having a rich mocha glaze and the base having a dark, almost black, brown pebbly treatment. The base is marked W Germany and some numbers, which cannot be made out. There are 2 tiny glaze skips by the rim. Both are about 2mm in length. Offered here is this striking pair of mantle vases from Scheurich. Nice to find as a set of near matched but not identical vases. Both are 18cm ( 7 1/4" ) high and are marked 523-18 W Germany. The glaze is a flat matte mottled brown with a vivid red flowing center band. Above and below this band is a cafe au lait glaze. This retro 1970's bottle vase is a deep cobalt blue with frothy white stringing. The markings make this a piece by Scheurich. It stands 23cm ( 9 1/8" ) high with a 7cm ( 2 3/4" ) diameter body. This is a terrific design idea from West German maker Scheurich. The upper and lower vertical slashes have a flame orange glaze peeking through. The rest of the body is a rough textured, mottled blue and gray vase that looks like billowing smoke. Excellent eye appeal and dates from the 1970's. Offered here is this sweet little vase from Scheurich. I don't come across many mini vases from Germany. This has a bold mottled blue glaze laid over the semi matte chocolate body. Offered here is this handled vase from West German pottery company Scheurich. Interesting glaze combo has a textured lower body in earth tones. The center section has a pearl ivory glaze and the rim is a dull gunmetal. This piece dates from the 1970's. It measures a little over 7" high and the widest part of the body is 4 3/8" in diameter.
