A very, very nice Staffordshire piece...I'm assuming its a toothpice holder as the basket next to the boy is just the right size...this must have been a "special" item as there is a caption written on the base "Now I'm Grand Mama", so assuming this was directed toward a new grandson since the color on this figure is blue...this piece is handpainted, he has wonderful face features and clothing are that of Victorian...he is holding a parasol and a basket...the parasol handle has the tip broke off(see pic, a little paint would cover the end)...there is an imperfection on the front rim of his hat(see pic) which may be a very, very shallow old chip, now smoothed over or a factory flaw..there are no cracks, chips or discoloration...measures 5"high, 3 1/4 wide, 2 3/8" deep....under base there is a number "2354", there is an impressed area with 3 letters, the first 2 are SP, the last letter I am unable to read....a fine example of Staffordshire to add to your collection..
