About Us
Since 1985 we have run our antiques business from our home in the historic county of Essex. We specialise in smaller items – often antique collectibles such as vestas, antique sewing items, Mauchline souvenir ware, Victorian lady’s skirt lifters & etc. Additionally many other items are stocked by us – provided they are old and small.
Every Saturday we buy and sell these from our shop in the Geoffrey Van gallery, 105 Portobello Road. We are normally on parade from 6.30 am until we start to flag around 2.00 - 2.30ish. Sundays often see us exhibiting in one of the major London hotels, usually the Park Lane on Piccadilly, or the Rembrandt Hotel (directly opposite the Victoria & Albert museum). Sometimes this London activity can lead to a delay between selling an item and removing it from our Ruby Lane site. We have only once had to disappoint anybody for this reason but ask for understanding if it should happen again.
For many years we travelled to New York to take part in the Three Piers Expo. In addition to exporting to most of the States in USA; our Ruby Lane activity has since 2001 happily introduced us to many new friends in America and from around the world.
We treat visitors to our Ruby Lane site as we would customers in our shop. The ticket price is the all-in price. There are no extra add-ons to pay. All shipping costs are taken care of by us – to everywhere in the world. Local taxes and duties have, however, to be paid by the recipient on arrival.
Lots of folks enjoy dealing with us. Try Joining them !
