Antique Victorian Lady's Bonnet Hat - Black Velvet Silk with Jet and Feather

This is a fabulous antique Victorian lady's bonnet made of feathers, velvet, silk, chenille velvet, jet beading and sequinning including a star shaped jet bead and rhinestone brooch at the front. This is quite an early bonnet dating to the 1860s. It is quite the piece of sculptural art with so much going on that it is difficult for me to properly describe it - I've provided quite a few close-up photos, so hopefully these will tell the story. It measures about 9" in length by about 7" in width. It is hand made and is in very good condition with the exception of maybe some plumage loss on some of the feathers and some of the silk is shredding, although this is non-structural and not really that noticeable. Other than this, the cream colored velvet flowers could use a steaming. All in all, the hat looks great and makes a wonderful display piece….great addition to a hat collection….
