This elegant writing desk if from the Louis XV period, c1770. Made of light French walnut. Original leather on the writing table. Stamp from the cabinet maker PZIREMBEL. Born in Poland, PZIREMBEL was received as a cabinet maker on June 16, 1766 in Paris. He was known as Godefroy and was famous for his mahogany tables.
Excellent condition considering its age; has been refinished. Original hardware, but lid slightly warped when closed. Handles may have been previously replaced.
