Here is an extremely rare 18th century "Old Paris" France two handled reticulated blue & white porcelain fruit basket and matching liner made by Pierre Fresnault Deruelle who founded Fabrique de Clignancourt, a porcelain factory in Paris. His product rivaled the Sevres factory in quality and detail. The pattern is in a neoclassical design depicting creatures of ancient mythology, birds, serpents, half man half beast creatures, cherubs, and other unidentified creatures. There is also an intricate design in between the piercings of the liner. Both basket and liner have the prince's coronet / crown backstamp used by Pierre Deruelle and dates these pieces from 1771-1793. The basket measures approx. 13 1/4" handle to handle, 10 1/4" wide, and 4" deep, with the liner 12" long, and 10 5/8" wide. The basket and liner are in absolutely outstanding condition considering their age with the only exception being crazing, and a few manufacturing imperfections on the resting ring of the liner.
