Here is an unusual Valentine postcard with a quote from Edgar Allen Poe! It has a young girl with her boy friend walking away from, and breaking the heart of another young boy. The Poe saying is "Of all the torments all the cares With which our lives are cursed Of all the plagues a lover bears Sure rivals are the worst." How ironic to have a quote on a Valentine card from an author of macabre and bizarre stories! The postcard is not postally used, but has a name written in pencil on the back. It is in excellent condition, with some discoloration, a light stain in the upper right corner, and light fraying at the corners and rim. It was printed by Allied Printing of Chicago, with Union Label in the mark.
Insurance is optional but recommended. Additional postcards purchased may be combined at no additional charge. Foreign, priority, and express mail postage rates are available. Please see our other vintage postcards currently on Ruby Lane.
