Your patience is requested as my job keeps me overseas half the month
What a wonderful find, coming across a matched pair like this! While these two ladies are unsigned, there is an unreadable portion of a sticker on the bottom of one. I have seen vases on this order before that were ticketed as being made in Japan, and I feel safe in assuming this pair was too.
Please be advised the ladies' turbans are actually a brighter, prettier shade of canary yellow than they appear in photos. Sizewise, one vase measures 6 1/4" high x 3 1/2" across her base, the other measures 5 7/8" x 3 3/8". They look to be hand-painted and are in excellent vintage condition, and I found no chips, cracks, or crazing. They could probably use a bit of a cleaning, especially on their insides as these decorative pieces were obviously used in the appointed task as planters! But I will leave such cleaning to those more knowledgeable than I!
