A famous motif, with couples in Dutch attire leaning over for a kiss. My understanding is that the current custom of kissing under the mistletoe is based on Scandinavian mythology. It has evolved considerably into lots of wonderful jewelry, salt & pepper shakers, and great traditions.

This brooch goes the extra mile: Three males and three females are in line in this homage to romance. When I acquired it, I saw that it was obviously very old and was sadly tarnished. But I found it charming and had a professional jeweler silverplate it to give it a second life, and he certainly did. Measurements of this vintage accessory are 2 3/8" x 1 1/4". Clasp works perfectly.
