Here we have a difficult to find mid to latter 19th c. Louis XV marquetry lingerie chest of drawers. These chests have also been called semaniers for "seven days of the week," as they have seven drawers, one for each day. The chest is mounted with a beautiful marble top, fitted with delicate bronze mounts, and each drawer has a locking mechanism. This piece was made in France, is in excellent condition with beautiful marquetry bookmatched inlays; size 54" H x 28" w x 20" D.
