An early 19th century English miniature watercolor portrait on ivory of an elegant young gentleman, his handsome face framed with dark curly hair and prominent eyebrows. He is dressed in the suit of a gentleman of high standing, probably from a very aristocratic family. The artist was very skilled and fine detail is evident in the execution of the painting.

The oval miniature is set into an original period ebony frame with brass fillet and suspension ring. It is in excellent condition.
