A lovely early 19th century American New England hollow-cut silhouette of a young woman with inked details on wove paper. The beautiful embossed oval frame is inset with reverse painted-on matting to the glass. The silhouette exhibits very nice detailed cuts with elongated bust.

The silhouette is not signed but is in good condition with minor discoloration to the paper. This piece came from a fine New England estate that was quite legendary for its collection of miniature portraits and silhouettes.
