An exquisite Art Deco bronze figure of an exotic dancer perched on a marble stand “Clare Jeanne Roberte Colinet,” with impressed signature. This is an early 20th century casting with fine detail to the features, exhibiting a patinated bronze finish in excellent condition; size 25 ½” H including base.

Clare Jeanne Roberte Colinet was born in Brussels in the late 19th century. She re-located to Paris and first exhibited at the Salon of Societe des Artistes Francais in 1913. She is best remembered for creating a series of female figures in dramatic dance poses. She was highly acclaimed for her interpretation of the female form which she attributed to being a female herself.
