19th Century High Relief Bronze Wall Charger

A late 19th century bronze wall charger depicting a figure from the German Epic poem, Trumpeter of Sackingen, surronded by a stylized border having Bacchus and griffin head reliefs with leafy scrolls. The detail is amazing, very sharp and clear; probably cast by the Henry Bonnard Co. of New York around 1880-90; size 12 3/4". It is supported on four legs but is also mounted for hanging, in mint condition with original finish.
