Comical oil painting on board by Amos Shontz, depicting mice hoarding money in their lair. One mouse is standing on a stack of bills while the other is peeking through the mouse hole. The back is titled “A Safe Place." The back of the painting reveals the back of the mouse peeking through the same hole.

Amos Shontz of Buckingham Pennsylvania was a 20th century Folk Art painter.

The painting is in excellent condition and set into its original gilded frame.
