Pair of Flower Encrusted Mounted Porcelain Plaques

We believe these to be of English origin, they were given as a wedding present many years ago to a lovely Tennessee couple by a very wealthy, well-traveled woman, who was a great patron of the arts. Although we have not disturbed the exquisite mounting, they appear to be Parian or Biscuit plaques mounted with the most beautiful porcelain flower arrangement we’ve ever seen. The porcelain is so finely detailed and delicate, and the workmanship so exquisite, it is hard to believe they were created by human hands.

Upon close observation, you will find a butterfly, strawberries, and a bird’s nest with eggs. They are in absolutely pristine condition, having been protected by the lovely shadowbox frame complete with glass. We have never seen another pair that compares with the detailed workmanship presented in these works of art; size of frame 19” H x 16” W.
