Late 18th C. French Louis XVI Marquetry Commode

An exceptional late 18th century French Louis XVI commode of broken rectilinear form, veneered with tulipwood and violetwood with marquetry filets, and showing gilt bronze mounts. The commode is fitted with two long drawers and a top shallow drawer creating a frieze that is topped by a mottled grey marble top. The commode is supported on canted legs capped at the foot. It is in excellent age appropriate condition, a fine example of French Ebenisterie furniture; size 34 ½” H x 49 ½” L x 21” D.
