A collectible set of 4 Meissen style Cabinet plates decorated in the ever popular quatrefoil style of pie sliced panels with hand painted Watteau like classical scenes alternating with panels of floral bouquets on a pink ground.

Although these plates are marked with the Meissen crossed swords, the underscore through the mark indicates that they are Meissen blanks decorated by another studio. That studio, in all probability, was Richard Klemm who operated an elite decorating studio in Dresden from 1869-1949. Klemm was an outstanding artist who produced pieces in the Meissen and Royal Vienna styles. These plates are very typical of his work and increasingly hard to find, as they have become eagerly sought by Dresden collectors. Klemm was also known to use a variation of the Meissen sword mark, a practice that was frowned on by Meissen and often resulted in legal woes for Klemm.

The plates are in good condition with some paint and gilt wear present; size 8 ½” D.
