An exquisite early to mid 19th C. hand painted Davenport comport with raised scalloped Rococo pierced border featuring a rich cerise border with a floral center. The Rococo style of Davenport produced glazes and workmanship of the highest quality, and they were celebrated for their use of rich colors. The factory, which was established in Burslem, England, by John Davenport around 1793, continued producing fine wares until 1887. The comport is in excellent condition with minor paint loss commensurate with age, size 2 ½” H x 9 ½” D.
