Wonderful set of nine, early 19th century, Samuel Alcock earthenware plates. The border and center have wheat bundles hand painted and highlighted in gilt. The set consists of six dinner plates, size 9 1/8” D; 2 lozenge shaped serving bowls, size 11” L x 8 ½” H; 1 shell shaped serving bowl, size 9 ½” H x 9” W. The set is in good condition commensurate with age with some paint loss and age hairlines. The imperfections give the plates a rich patina which would be perfect for display on a shelf.
