Japan Red and Gold Floral Chintz Paper Mache Tray

This is a very pretty Paper Mache tray made in Japan. It has gold and bright red flowers against an off white background. The shape is serpentine. The tray measures approximately 14” by 12”. It has a paper label on the back made in Japan. The back is stamped “HIGHMOUNT QUALITY, ALCOHOL PROOF”. There is some wear to the front edges and there is a little damage on the front a thin strip about 1 ½” of pattern is missing. The back also shows damage where some of the lacquer has worn off.
