This is an early ironstone plate hand painted in the feather pattern. The edge of the plate is hand painted in blue. The manufacturer’s mark is on the back of the plate. It is marked Ironstone, John Meir & Son, England. This pottery operated at Tunstall, England from around 1837 to 1897. The plate dates to 1881. It measures approximately 9” in diameter. The condition is good. It shows some imperfections in the manufacture of the plate, which is normal. It shows minor wear due to age.
