This is a very nice early and hard to find pair of punch and Judy Toby jugs or pitchers. They are very primitively made. They are in very nice condition for their age. There is some paint loss and crazing, along with imperfections in the manufacture. There is a crack in the handle on Judy but it appears to have happened during the manufacture. There are no chips or other cracks. There are numbers impressed on the bottom of one of the pitchers, but they are too difficult to read. The pitchers date to around the early to mid 1800’s. The pitchers are white with gold highlighting around the edge and around the Punch’s collar. His costume has green stripes. Judy has a bow highlighted in gold and is wearing a green scarf or shawl. Judy measures 4 ¾” high, 2 ¼ wide and 4” in length. Punch measures 4 ½” high, 3 wide and 4” in length.
