This is something unusual and nice. This miniature domed tea caddy, chest or trunk has brass feet and silver inset on the edges at each end. At one time it had a small brass plate inlaid on the top and brass inlay at the lock. There is also a band of silver missing from one end on the domed top. It is an interesting piece. There is a lock on the front of the trunk but no key. The inside of the trunk has an insert of painted wood lining both the top and bottom of the trunk. The bottom of the trunk is painted black and shows wear. The wood on the edges of the inside, both the top and bottom, is painted black. The finish on the outside of the trunk appears to have been water stained at some time. There was a lot of work and detail put into this small chest.. It measures approximately 5 ½” in length, 2 ½” wide and 2 ½” high. It has been priced for condition.
