Gilbert Clock Advertising Sundial Shoes

Welcome to Penaroyal Collectibles!!! We have for sale a neat old clock by Gilbert. This clock measures approx 4 ¾” tall x 6” wide at the base x 2¼” deep. It is a well made clock and is very heavy for its size. The outside case is very detailed and is made of some type of metal. The time piece area is marked “Time will tell ~ wear Sundial Shoes ~ Gilbert ~ Made in Winsted, Conn., USA”.

This old clock is in nice condition for its age. The most wear is the face area around the glass. It looks like at one time it was black and some of that has worn off. This old clock still works and has a rather loud ticking sound. We do have to give it a little shake back and forth to get it running. We have owned it for several years and have always had to do this. The alarm also works very well. When clock is ticking there is a faint sound in the background that you can hear while clock is ticking. Not sure what that is from and it does not do it all the time. It did not do that when we bought it. It has been setting on a shelf for several years and maybe this has caused the sound. There is also one wing nut missing from one of the screws on the backside.
