This is probably a luncheon set of dishes because of the size of the pieces. These dishes were made by th Atlas China-New York sometime in the early or mid twentieth century, the company started from 1918 until?- the back stamp mark on the back of the plate identify the dates and company. The dishes have a maroon fan-like emblem surrounded by maroon loops (you can feel the designs) with gold trim all on white background. There are no chips, cracks or stains on the dishes. The set is simplicity of elegance. There are 17 pieces in the set: One (1) small 10'' platter: Four (4)each of the following: 2 1/4'' cups, 9'' luncheon plates, 5 1/2'' saucers, 5 1/4'' dessert bowls, 5 1/2'' bread & butter plates.
