WOW, Is this cooool!! The die-cut, double-sided, cardboard lantern is finished on the inside with a metallic gold colored cardboard which not only would reflect the light but even without a candle or light, it gives it an eerie look. I don't know an exact age but would guess in the 50's or earlier since the mere safety aspect of a kid carrying around a cardboard item with a candle in it, not only is absurd but would not be allowed by today's standards. This looks to be unused, the interior is clean and the folds in the bottom that would hold a candle in place have not been bent. It has the original bail and other than a crease at the top of one side, it is in excellent condition. It is unmarked and someone has used some tape on the inside flaps to hold them in place but it looks like it could be easily removed without any damage.
