SOLD Heart and Crown Norwegian Silver Solje Brooch

This is a beautiful Norwegian Solje brooch with a crown on top of a heart. Four rows of delicate filigree curlicues are decorated with egg-shaped dangles called "spoons" which are a dark gold or antiqued gold in color. Three kite-shaped dangles with an impressed design hang from the bottom two tiers.

The brooch is long at 3-3/4" long and 2" wide. It is impressed "H.O." and "830S". The clasp is an old-fashioned curled C-clasp. Solje brooches are used in traditional Norwegian wedding costumes, going back centuries. This one is in excellent condition and is even prettier in person.
